What inspired you to write your first book?
Childhood, Teenage, and Adult Adversity and Trauma. Not to mention the adversity and anxiety that those around me were facing on a day-to-day basis. Stress is such an insidious demon lurking over everyone’s shoulder. But after the pandemic, stress and anxiety were at an all-time high, and I was compelled to do something about it. Thus came STRESSED OUT.
Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?
The experiences I highlight in my books come from family, friends, peers, and myself.
What are your current projects?
Aside from promoting TIME 2 GO…the next project will be about conflict management, relationship management, or both.
Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.
Although I’m not necessarily religious, I am highly spiritual. So, I will always give the glory of my success and accomplishments to GOD! He has brought me through and sustained me during some difficult times.
Do you see writing as a career?
I’ve always had a passion for helping people. And there’s no better way to do that for the masses than through the written word. As an author, I’m here to stay!
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
TIME 2 GO is a phenomenal piece of work…probably my best yet. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
I’ve always planned on writing throughout my retirement years. People in my personal life and beyond seeking advice and knowledge sped this process up a bit. Not to mention, as I’ve said before the pandemic played a major role as well in my decision to come forward into my own as an author.
Who designed the covers?
Your book covers must convey to the reader the quality they can expect from the content inside your book. I usually run a contest on 99Designs and choose between premium artists. I think the competition produces the best product.
What genre do you consider your book?
As of now, I have only published SELF-HELP/HOW-TO AND ADVICE books. But may venture into other related genres in the future.
How do you relax?
My methods for relaxation varies from weight training and walking, traveling, swimming, sleeping, watching a good movie, enjoying music, or cuddled up with a great book.
What is your favorite movie and why?
I am a Star Wars and Star Trek fan at heart. Simply because if life exists here…then it must exist elsewhere. But Scarface is probably my all-time favorite movie due to the rags-to-riches storyline…even though his inner demons eventually got the best of him.
What behind-the-scenes tidbit in your life would probably surprise your readers the most?
My brother was the first person to put Eminem on TV in Detroit! (Way before he was famous)
What is your favorite cover out of all your books? Why is it your favorite?
This is a hard one because I truly love all of my covers and took great care in choosing the one that conveys the spirit and quality of the content inside. But if I had to choose ONE I would say TIME 2 GO! Because the power button and color green are so emblematic of a new start while shaking off or stopping old, bad habits.
