Praise for Find the Seeker!

“Find the Seeker! is fresh as spring grass and refreshing as a clear stream. The teachings in this book refuse to be confined to a spiritual checklist or manual of meditative techniques. Instead, the authors again and again challenge readers to return to the vibrant truth of original nature. Going beyond optimistic self-help and nihilistic despair, Genro Xuan Lou, Laoshi and Clifford Stevens remind us of how wonderful it is to let go of grasping and taste the vividness of direct experience.” —Robert Meikyo Rosenbaum, neuropsychologist and psychotherapist, Zen and Qi Gong teacher, author of Walking the Way: 81 Zen Encounters with the Tao Te Ching, and Zen and the Heart of Psychotherapy.

“Here is an enthusiastic account of the Zen way that is full of the excitement of discovery after discovery. Genro has an imaginative feel for how Zen can rhyme with Western tradition. The book is designed for you to take the ride and change your heart, rather than add to your learning in the normal way.It should be issued with seat belts. Genro’s insight is disarming and fun and worth experiencing.” —John Tarrant, Zen teacher, founder and director of the Pacific Zen Institute, author of The Light Inside the Dark and Bring Me the Rhinoceros.

“Let go of your ideas and read this wonderful book without expectations of what the path is really about. Genro will accompany you as a true friend.” –Taiwa Kakunen,Zen monk at the Kakunen-Ji Temple at Wachendorf Castle, Germany and Member of the Zen Group in Villingen-Schwennigen, Germany (the entire text is in the foreword to the book).

“Like the work I have done over many decades, this book helps people to find the true Self, be One with their Divine Nature, and be free to Be. It compassionately shows people how to turn within to uncover their own Shangri-La. It is a unique, extraordinary and extremely valuable work which I highly recommend to all spiritual seekers and those who want to find what is Eternal.” –Ihaleakala Hew Len, author of Zero Limits, teacher of Ho’oponopono and former Chairman Emeritus of the Foundation of I.

“There are Buddhas and patriarchs ready to accompany serious seekers. They are independent of ideologies, do not play with a spiritual baby rattle, are free of intellectual trends and stay away from fundamentalist complaining. . . . [T]hey are guides and guardians of the’Gateless Gate’. . . . Such a person is Genro Laoshi. With his book, Find the Seeker!, he touches your heart.” –Xue Feng, Abbot of the DingShan Monastery and Chan Master, alias Konrad von Moresbach of the Oblates of the Order of St. Benedict (the entire text is in the afterword).

Discard your preconceptions, and let it accompany you to unfold your true, non-dual nature.” –Reza Ketabi Pour, spiritual teacher, healer and founder of the Ketabi Center

“This book is grounded, realistic and authentic. It entices us to follow the authors on the Middle Way–not in a painful, strained and complaining manner, but lighthearted and with joy. All enlightened beings, most founders of religions and many renowned scientists knew and understood the six principles of enlightenment. These universal truths have been written about, taught and discussed for thousands of years yet remain shrouded in mystery and misinterpretation. This book seeks to remove that shroud.

The Six Principles of Enlightenment and Meaning of Life is an intellectual and spiritual work that explains the six significant universal truths woven throughout science, religion and philosophy. These principles draw upon thousands of years of wisdom and are presented in a concise, accessible format. Each principle is defined and has an explanation on its application to life; they are further supported by quotes of wisdom from enlightened beings, philosophers, artists and scientists like Buddha, Albert Einstein, Rumi, Stephen Hawking and Jesus. Understanding the six principles then unlocks the meaning of life which is explained in the final chapter.

The Six Principles of Enlightenment and Meaning of Life AuthorAbout the Author:
Author Russell Anthony Gibbs is a philosopher and spiritual seeker on a quest for enlightenment. His research into Bahaism, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Sufism and Taoism has greatly influenced his spiritual and philosophical perspective. In addition to religion and philosophy, he has incorporated quantum mechanics, physics and psychology and studied the works of Albert Einstein, Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud and Stephen Hawking.

Russell’s communication style is concise, intense and deep. He would rather express wisdom in brief, powerful quotes and concise paragraphs than complicated, long-winded explanations. Espresso Wisdom is short, strong, rich insight. Like espresso coffee, it is an intense jolt of enlightenment. Enlightenment is an awakening, and Espresso Wisdom is meant to help jumpstart you on your journey.

Biography/Spirituality – Blue Skies Buddha

Blue Skies BuddhaBlue Skies Buddha
By Liz Lewinson
Publisher: Mystic-Buddha Publishing House
Published: September 2015
ISBN: 978-0982050576
ASIN: B015JPB7X4
Pages: 382
Genre: Biography, Religion, Buddhism

This acclaimed biography of the early teaching years of Rama ‐ Dr. Frederick Lenz (1950 ‐ 1998) highlights the new age spiritual renaissance of the 1970s and 80s and the founding of an original, deep‐rooted movement of American Buddhism. Readers take part in a free-spirited adventure as they witness a wild, sports jock teenager transform into an iconoclastic, innovative spiritual teacher. For Frederick Lenz, boundary breaking was de rigueur as witnessed and reported by the 100+ students and colleagues interviewed by author Liz Lewinson. Meditation, the empowerment of women, and Buddhist wisdom form the core of Dr. Lenz’s teachings, which he shared and honed with boundless enthusiasm. He encountered opposition, of course, but he kept his priorities straight. When he visited Nepal at age 19, he encountered an aged monk who informed him he was a lineage bearer. He was to revive and re‐establish an ancient school of enlightenment. He was to find his many past life students and help them achieve joyous enlightenment in this life or at least set them securely on the path. He was to do this in the West, using Western means. In the East, centuries‐old traditions maintain meditative pathways to enlightenment. In the West, facing a blank canvas, Dr. Lenz found new ways to build mental and meditative prowess through careers such as computer science, visits to American “places of power,” knowledge about real gender equilibrium (not monastic), movies, music, and dance. He taught these skills to American students and observed their success. Whether you are one of Rama’s past life students (or not!), reading this fast-paced biography will bring you new realizations and freedom, and ground you in the tenets of American Buddhism.

Recent Praise for Blue Skies Buddha
“This fascinating biography captures the wisdom of a genuine, compelling teacher who combined absolute miracles with humor, fun and adventure. When you read this fast-paced book, you feel you are there, learning and transforming. This is an original and exciting read.” — Lynn Andrews, Author of The Medicine Woman Series.

“This book presents an honest look into one of the most intriguing and controversial spiritual movements of the 80’s and 90’s. Rama was a very unconventional teacher and his teaching often caused people to rethink their basic assumptions on spirituality. In a way, he reminded me of my other idols of our age – Bruce Lee, Michael Jackson and Steve Jobs. They were all not only filled with crazy passions about their lives, but were so unconventional in their approaches that they caused major disruptions in traditional values. They were people who believed in themselves, walked their own paths and did not compromise.” —Francis Wang

Blue Skies Buddha AuthorAbout the Author:
Author, speaker, technologist and long-time teacher/practitioner of meditation, Liz Lewinson first en-countered a young American Buddhist teacher at a classroom at UCLA in the Spring of 1981. Along with her study of Buddhism and meditation, Liz manages complex technology programs for global firms.  During the 15 years she spent researching Blue Skies Buddha, she increasingly broadened her understanding and appreciation of Buddhism for the West.

Science/Religion – Does God Exist? Are Science and the Belief in God Compatible?

Does God ExistDoes God Exist? Are Science and the Belief in God Compatible?
By Donald Ackermann
Publisher: AuthorHouse
Published: July 2014
ISBN: 978-1496918307 (paperback)

Genre: Religion, Philosophy, Science

Wonder if there is a God … a benevolent God? Who among us would not want to know the answer? Unexpectedly, some scientists are now leading the way to that answer.

The contentious debate between believers and non-believers as to whether or not God really exists has raged ever since man first gazed into the heavens and pondered the universe. But recent discoveries coupled with what was already known are drawing the two opposing camps closer. This commentary strives to demonstrate how this is happening, and why the religious and scientific communities are gradually finding so much more that they can agree upon. Both sides have given considerable ground. Some scientists and theologians now acknowledge each other’s previously inflexible positions on many issues: how old the earth is, if other life similar to ours exists, the nature of things that strongly suggest Intelligent Design. It is particularly noteworthy how many prominent physicists, cosmologists, and astronomers now accept the possible existence of a God, Supreme Being, or Universal Power. It is seen that once the dogmatism on both sides is removed, the compatibility of religion and science emerges. Keep in mind the author makes no claim to being a scientist or theologian, or that this commentary is intended to be exhaustive. But it is believed few have ever assembled such a concentrated array of scientific and religious facts and opinions with accompanying analysis which, when brought together, form a more composite and truer picture of the truth. And isn’t that what everyone is after: the truth?

If you find this subject intriguing, as most do, and you are looking for some answers, you may find them here. Come, journey with the author into the uncertain, the unknown, the profound. See where it takes you. You will not be disappointed.
